AGED IN A TRAIN CAR

At Black Diamond Brewery & Distillery, we're proud to partner with the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway to honor our region's rich coal mining and railroad heritage. Together, we've transformed a historic railroad boxcar into a "rolling rickhouse," where our bourbon barrels age amidst the natural rhythms of the railway. This innovative approach not only accelerates the maturation process through seasonal temperature and humidity fluctuations but also breathes new life into historic railcars. Experience the unique flavors born from this collaboration—a true testament to tradition and innovation.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Bright and inviting, with tropical fruit aromas, rich vanilla, and a soft hint of caramel.
Palate: Smooth and well-balanced. Dominated by vanilla, complemented by fresh mint, mild oak, and a gentle spice.
Finish: Long, clean, and remarkably smooth. No harsh ethanol burn—just a warm, satisfying close.

What Sets It Apart

Crafted with care in Ohio, Black Diamond Bourbon stands out for its complexity and drinkability. Unlike many regional bourbons, it offers depth without the bite, making it a favorite for both new sippers and seasoned whiskey lovers.

Rolling Rickhouse Aging

This bourbon spends part of its aging journey in a restored railroad boxcar through a unique partnership with the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway. The seasonal movement and fluctuating temperatures in the “rolling rickhouse” help create a deeper, more developed flavor—tapping into both innovation and Appalachian tradition.

Enjoy It Your Way

Whether it’s neat, on the rocks, or in your favorite cocktail, Black Diamond Bourbon brings smooth character and bold flavor to every pour.
